Length Retention & Hair Growth

Many factors contribute to hair growth and length retention. For starters, there are significant steps to consider to retain length and grow healthy hair, other than our hair growth products:
  1. Hair Growth Oil: Our Hair Growth Elixir aids in stimulating and penetrating the scalp, opening up hair follicles, and increasing blood circulation to the scalp, resulting in hair growth. Adequate blood circulation to the scalp provides follicles with the oxygen, nutrients, & minerals necessary for growth. (Don’t forget to massage, massage, massage !!)
  2. Satin Bonnets & Pillowcases: Due to friction, cotton weakens hair shaft and causes breakage; thus, leading to hair loss. Satin aids in retaining hairs moisture, preventing frizz, and minimizing static. Using a satin bonnet or pillowcase will help maintain healthy strands.
  3. Trim: Trimming your hair every 3-4 months encourages growth. It aids in growing stronger, healthier hair at a quicker pace and promoting length retention. The more you maintain trims, the less damage and split ends.
  4. Moisture: Moisturized hair is less prone to breakage; thus, preventing damage to the hair shaft. One of the methods recommended is the LOC method: Liquid, Oil, and Cream. This method aids in maintaining moisture and sealing it in. Remember to also keep your ends hydrated.
  5. Clean Scalp: Maintaining a clean scalp is crucial in stimulating hair growth. Hence, our Cafe au Lait Sugar Scrub, which aids in exfoliating, detoxifying, removing build-up, stimulating the scalp, & more. This is an integral part of the hair growth process. A dirty scalp leads to blocked follicles; thus, inhibiting growth.
  6. Protective Styling: Protective styling with minimal tension prevents excessive manipulation leading to hair growth and retention, but don’t overdo it. The less manipulation, the faster your hair grows. If you don’t properly take care of your hair while in a protective style, it can also cause breakage and further damage.
  7. Nutrition: One of the most vital steps in hair growth is nutrition. Eat foods that are rich in nutrients, specifically protein, biotin, iron, omega-3s, zinc, vitamin Bs, vitamin E, and vitamin C. Adding adequate nutrients to your diet results in the proper nourishment needed for healthy hair growth. Take your vitamins and don’t forget, drink PLENTY of water!
  8. Detangling: Detangling from the ends, working your way up to the top helps prevent breakage. Use a wide-tooth comb or our amazing Tangle-Tease Detangle Brush. Be sure to detangle on wet hair or with your favorite deep conditioner.
  9. Less Heat: Too much heat causes brittle and damaged strands; thus, causing breakage. I have experienced heat damage many times and it is by far one of the hardest things to reverse, so lower that temperature ladies!
  10. Microfiber Towel: Aids in minimizing friction and strain on hair, which can lead to breakage. It absorbs the water without overly drying your hair, it reduces frizz, and it is by far more gentle on hair.

Lastly, love it, water it, nurture it, and watch it grow. <3
